The face is the mirror of the mind, and eyes without speaking confess the secrets of the heart.

I often think why I like you. I could not single out just one reason. you have so many good qualities as a person and I think it’s the combination of all of these qualities that elevates you from an average woman. your good looks is the least of all these. I’m not going to spend anymore time thinking what is it that makes you look so attractive. It’s enough that I like myself when I was with you.

I thought it will be heaven.. perfect for my dreams, I begun a journey with a partner with a different destination so when we finally “ arrived,” we don’t know where we are..

The 2nd Episode has been uploaded! I can’t say much about the topic, but what caught me : Black Panther VS Batman which Noir accidentally says Blackman hehehe why not another Superhero in the making 🙂 What about you?
Obviously, I haven’t seen the Black panther yet (no movie theater here in KSA) but from what I knew, the story both has traumatic experience on Black panther and Batman. Black panther lost his father and Batman lost his parents. Both would like to avenge their death. Both has costume in black (am I right? ) hahaha Well I should stop comparing until I see the movie!
Ladies, let me know later which one you like more?

It’s been long I haven’t been on a Valentine’s date 🙂 A feeling of senior moment or a feeling of longing? Whatever it is, I.. for sure would like to experience it sooner. Alright, I heard you (my hand on my ear…(smiling) I am nearly on retirement age and sooner than you thought I’ll be tossing my shoes up in the air with my Valentino hahaha.
However, this post is not about me , not about Valentines but about “Love”.
My father has an Alzheimer and he is 95 yrs old. My mom is 91 ys old and she is in the early stage of dementia. My father can’t handle her mood swings or maybe.. we, the children can not tolerate the drama scene so we decided to separate them physically.

Recently, my mom had a fall accident and got into wheelchair like my dad. When I came home, She asked about my dad, to bring him to her side.
Me: mom are you sure?
mom: yes, if you like, let him sleep here too (smiling shyly)
I was hesitant for a while, because I knew the ‘drama’ that leads to their separation but I complied to her wish anyway. I asked my dad if he is willing to see my mom, obviously he forgot the scenario that he has a wife too!
When my mom saw him, her eyes opened widely with joy and asked my dad.
Do you know me? my dad smiled and looked at her.
Do you know me? (mom repeated her question)
Me: papa si mama yan! (dad that’s mom!)
My dad, lovingly smiled at her and repeated the word “mama”.
We carried dad to mom’s bed and both are now besides each other, my mom kept asking him, do you know me? How are you? My dad embraced her and my mom knew that in spite of Alzheimer, dad still knew her by heart.
I left them for a while, my heart is pounding with joy and my eyes were welling up.
When I came back, my mom shyly but proudly announced that my dad gave her a kiss. Wow! how romantic!
I decided to give it a try, let dad sleep tonight besides mom. I missed them so much so I invited myself to joined them in one bed, dad was in the middle.

After a few hours, I heard dad murmuring, ” I will buy a big bed”
“I will buy a big bed” he repeated it many times and eventually my mom said, Mimi, get out of bed!
Hahaha who got an Alzheimer? me ? or my dad? stupid me! The bed is too small for us.
So, I slept in the sofa and them.. together in one bed.
Though I did not sleep well, worried that dad or my mom might fall out of bed, the night went quietly with a happiness and love in our heart.
When I woke up, dad and mom were holding hands. Do I need to say more?
The wonder of ‘Love’ it speaks in different ways!

“Love is not a memory – it’s a feeling that resides in our heart and soul”
Do you know me?
when I look into your eyes..
I may not recognized you..
I may not call your name or even say it..
I may hear but may not understand you..
Do you know me?
I may not know you..like I don’t even know me..
but I feel you.. I feel me..
when you touch my hand and I touch yours..
I know..you know..we belong to each other..
I love you papa and mama, Happy Valentines!
Cheers,

AirbnB – stands for airbed and breakfast, but that was then …today you can actually rent the whole place and make your own breakfast. 🙂
I heard about airbnb from my two sons, the first time I was going to visit them in Los Angeles. It’s cheaper than hotel and it feels like your home, but I want to feel like I’m on vacation… I don’t want to cook my own meal, clean my place, I like to stay in a hotel.

Try mom!
Alright! We stayed one week in Sta. Monica, the host is kind and the place is neat and clean, though I still think , hotel is way better but if you’re thinking to save some money for shopping 🙂 airbnb is a choice!
This is the second time I tried airbnb, this time in Hawaii for two weeks. My children would like to feel local, ok ladies, I am not rolling my eyes but my kind of holiday is like..staying in the hotel, spa, guided tours and shopping, I guess that’s my definition of a tourist. (in my own vocabulary)

What is like being a tourist and a local at the same time?
One thing is to rent a house far away from where the tourist usually crowds. I rented “Mermaid’s Secret Haven” in Kaneohe,Hi. Indeed, the place is far from the airport and a car is a necessity . If you have used the airbnb app, the pictures are exactly what you can find at Katrina’s place. I find her very charming and polite host.

It’s a one bedroom/bathroom apartment which is attached to the main house but has a separate entrance. It is complete with all the things you need while on vacation, plenty of different kinds of towels, even picnic basket, cooler and snorkelling gears are available.
Though the place is far from the centre, it is a few minutes drive from the malls and nice beaches around the island. Nearer to the North shore and Kailua beach. As the days passed, I really didn’t feel that was a far place.
I love the serenity of the place, the garden …though it was raining every now and then, I had the chance to enjoy my coffee outside and taste the sweetness of the freshly pick papaya every morning, it was heaven to my palate. Thanks Katrina!

This is our family photo on rainy days inside the Maiden’s secret haven. I love it!
I’m looking forward to another family holiday, another adventure.
Will I use another airbnb?
Hmmm… maybe yes..maybe no!

Al baha is a region in Saudi Arabia nestled between Mecca and Al abha. It is known as the region of 1001 towers, though we have seen several towers, which usually at the top of the mountain, mostly are not protected and inhabited either completely gone or partially ruined.

On our way back home, we passed through a town called Al Mikhwah, looking for a restaurant to eat breakfast but everything was closed probably due to Eid holiday. So we continued on until we found a huge bridge with fresh water flowing from the nearby mountain.
Is it a river? lake? oasis?

We went down under the bridge and had our breakfast with the sound of fresh water and after around twenty minutes a herd of camels apparently the caretaker would like to have some rest too.

We supposed to pass by Al Leith hot spring but the weather was so hot to even attempt to pass by. 😦
Happy Eid to all!

Dhi Ain Village (thi ain ancient village ) it is also known as Aqaba al-Baha. The 400 year old village was not easy to locate, we have to pass through 25 tunnels at 8,200 ft above sea level to get into al- baha. On top of that, due to numerous spellings we can’t google the place correctly. We have to go to Golden Tulip Hotel to asked for the direction. The scenery along the road was spectacular. There were few view deck along the area where you can stop and take pictures.

Before reaching this place, we have seen ruins of abandoned stones and slate towers along the way. It’s amazing to see how the stones were arranged.

We left our hotel early morning and we can’t just pass through without taking pictures. It was all foggy ,breezy but not so cold at this time.

It’s a long winding road but its worth seeing the place specially we have a week Eid holiday. Though we were not able to see forest garden, we have seen few green bushes, banana ,olive, flowers along the area.
Creativity at its best!

to be continued 🙂
