Dubai day 4 – Β The Miracle Garden of Dubai, is on my list to visit..imagine! 45 million flowers in 72000 sqm area in a desert? Β who can’t be curious at that?
not me! – kevin said, but if you want it’s ok for me, I’ll go with you.
you’re right! I woke up early in the morning just to find him very sleepy and sluggish, well, probably he was not well yet.
So, I decided to brave the road alone in a taxi to see the magic moment I was waiting for… huh! almost one hour drive .. only to found out ..CLOSED!! what? the website said , oh dear, what a day, no advance notice whatsoever…# %* #.
Anyhow, it’s too early in the morning to ruin the day so, I decided to went straight to Β Mall of the Emirates (Emirate mall).
Wow!
high ceiling
A lot of international outlet and restaurant to choose from! and this also housed the first Middle East indoor ski, the Ski Dubai. I roamed around before calling my date that I gonna wait for him here.
Hmm let’s see if I can get some souvenirs from Dubai.
900 dirham?
Oh well, I can’t afford to spend any more dirham π Walking by myself, carrying a camera click..click.. touristic moment but not really fun doing it, so I decided to have Β light breakfast and sipped Seattle’s best coffee and churros!
and finally here he comes, my nomadic Chef Kevin..we went to bookstores, walk few more rounds before having lunch at Cheesecake factory and of course, movie date at reel Cinema.
Third day of the conference, my chef Kevin was still not feeling well so after I’m done, we went strolling along the Dubai mall.
What a festive atmosphere in Lafayette Galleries!
I wish Jeddah would have something like this too π probably,.. in many long years? well, not really sure π
not only that..what about ham, pork and other foods ohh yes, we can’t have like this in Jeddah, not in million years!
Actually, we would like to have a Β hot Thai soup to soothe chef Kevin’s sore throat unluckily, we were not able to reserve, so we opted to just go for a fast-food at the terrace of Outback steak, the food was not that Β great, so we just enjoyed looking at the Dubai fountain.
Not much to write though, we ended the night early for another day ahead.
First day of Dental-Facial Cosmetic Conference at Jumeirah Beach hotel and of course, looking at the ceiling is my way to get a snap shot of anything that catches my eye π
After a day of workshop, time to unwind and what else to do?
Dinner date with Chef Kevin at La Parilla- an Argentine American Restaurant at the 25th floor of Jumeirah Beach hotel with live band and Argentine dancing.
While waiting for our food we got the chance to see the spectacular skyline view of Dubai. The terrace location was excellent !

and finally dinner is serve!
With a live band playing Argentine music, how I wish ..I practice my dance move so I can beg and pull my son to dance with me π … in my dreams.
Oh! If he was feeling well and in the mood,… I might be lucky!
nope!..I ‘m not rolling my eyes! neither you! I guess π
Ladies, If ever you’re in Dubai, don’t forget to visit this place!
Yes! I’m back to Dubai to attend Facial-Cosmetic Dentistry conference at Jumeirah Beach hotel.
I arrived a day early for the conference, checked-in to City Premier Hotel Apartment, this time our room gotΒ upgraded to premier deluxe, a bigger room and a huge balcony overlooking Dubai skyline.
My Chef Kevin has been sick for two days before I arrived but he managed to be withΒ me and even went for a dinner!
My chef Kevin
We went to Katsuya, oh yes! another Japanese food, my chef kevin definitely made my palate accustomed to Japanese cuisine, I can now savour every sushi in the table. hahaha I must admit, I’m not a great fan of sushi before!
Katsuya at Dubai Mall
We wanted to see the best view of the terrace so we waited for a while to get the seat. We went to Teavana for him to drink ginger tea for his sore throat. What a display of tea pot!
At last , we got the seat, it wasn’t the best but at least we got the view of Dubai fountain.
Dubai fountain
With a chef as a son, you can’t go wrong ordering nice dishes, I enjoyed the food as much as enjoying his company and watching Dubai fountain. Lucky me!
Good food,nice view..great company ..what a night!
While I was looking for the exit door at Dubai mall, as I look up, i saw this reflection of “the address” a five-star hotel connected to Dubai mall. I immediately took a snap shot.
Below is a normal photograph of the hotel outside the Dubai mall.
My last night in Dubai … I can’t leave without even trying to see Atlantis The palm Dubai, unfortunately our reservation was already late in the evening. It took us about 40 minutes drive from the city premier to Atlantis. the driver dropped us a bit far from the entrance of the hotel and just imagine wearing high heels walking through the pavement, huh! the next time oh yeah there will be next time π save it to the last…keeping my fingers crossed! ain’t gonna ride with you,no more driver!
Chef Kevin choose “Nobu”, just for bit of information Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa is a celebrity chef known for his fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with South american ingredients.Β http://www.nobumatsuhisa.com
Just look at the face of my Chef Kevin, smiling from ear to ear, oh! it’s great to see him very happy after working 12 hours. I Β wish that my eldest son Edge was also with us. We invited his friend Kary to join us too, so I got two dates at one night π

We would like to experience the essence of Nobu cuisine so we opted for Omakase- 8 course meal and true! It was the best choice that evening. I am not into eating raw but tonight was different…I love Sashimi hmmm great meal..great company!
