Model: Kristine Solis Are you beyond fifty years of age? Is there a protocol of what to wear when you’re fifty and beyond?
Is it about you? or is it about how people perceive you? Are you afraid of humiliating your family more than yourself?
What do we consider when we want to wear something in fashion?
Have you heard how President Obama’s daughter got critiqued in Facebook because of wearing what teens wears today?
so I thought, what will happen if I, a woman of fifty-five years old wears what a 19 years old model wears during photo shoot?
will I be shoot to kill? (wink) or will people be dismayed of what I did? 🙂
huh! over thinking will kill the fun 🙂

Model: Kristine Solis 34-24-34 statistics as we age will be like 34-34-34 🙂 because of aging process specially after menopause, the estrogen levels goes down and it seems the fat distributions are all in the abdomen,thigh,hips and buttocks , so from hourglass shape to an apple shape huh! at least there’s still a shape! hahaha

Wrong at certain times, i.e. wearing high heels on the beach! well, that’s an exaggeration :-), what about wearing crop top and your bulging tummy is getting ready to burst! hahaha wild imagination 🙂

Bonding time at Eric Zemmour, Jeddah KSA
Last week, I blogged about 5’Os meeting 6’Os…what about if 2’Os to be.. meet double 5 ?? A mother and daughter bonding?
I wish! Well, having only two sons without a daughter is also fun… we enjoy travelling together, we share same interest like photography and food but it’s nothing like .. let’s go to salon…let’s pamper ourselves 🙂
So, I asked Kristine my daughters’ friend, she is like my daughter and one of the pioneer members of the “Kids Fun Club” I organised and handled from 2001-2010. Imagine.., she was only 6 yrs. old then..and now a blooming lovely lady. Yakks! I think I felt I am on my 60s!

I miss you all!
We went to ‘Eric Zemmour” a luxurious hair salon in Rawdah District, Jeddah KSA. To my surprise, this is the same staff in E-spa where I used to do my hair and my regular gym routine. Hmmm, I wonder what they gonna do with my membership? I believe they still owe me 2-3 months, Let’s wait and see 🙂

any similarity?Anyhow, back to beauty regimen, I decided to have a new colour and Kristine choose to do her nails.
I choose a bit dark colour to cover my grey hair and trim down my hair. Well, another coincidence, my hair stylist name is also Meriam, She is from Morroco, her hand is soft which is good for my delicate scalp.
It’s friday and there were men still working outside the building, so I guess there was some water difficulty somewhere that they used cold mineral water to rinse my hair 🙂 I like it though, cool and the chair massage was on, so kind of tickly to my ear and back hahaha way to go!

Well, what’s your verdict?… not bad for soon to be double 5!
And after salon, of course, we went to The Cheesecake factory, I ordered skinnylicious veggie burger unfortunately, it was not available, so it’s Friday..no diet… Enjoy! huh! I ate all the french fries on the side ( I was so engrossed to our conversation ) Excuses :-)… I know! Seriously, It was a beautiful night for two beautiful ladies…psst! we forego of cheesecake, Our tummy was already complaining so we ended the night with good smile and sweet memories.
Thank you Kristine, hope to see you more often while your still on holiday.
Ladies, my verdict? it’s ok! not bad…good experience at Eric Zemmour.
Did I mentioned the cost? 🙂 🙂 secret! oh well, the hair cut cost 150 SR and one hair colour cost SR380. Expensive??

Weekly Photo Challenge: Room
I have a 72 years old male patient came in for consultation. His main concern..”spaces in front of the two front teeth”.
Him: Can you do something?
Me: Yes, I can.. but your teeth will look a bit wider and longer .
Him: would it look nice? will it improve my appearance?
Me: (looking at the other adjacent teeth, considering his oral hygiene) If only to close the space at the middle, maybe 20%! but lets start first in cleaning your teeth so I can get the real shade of the teeth. He agreed and I proceeded to remove the old composite filling and restored the teeth with direct composite veneer.(E.max direct).
Central incisors restored with direct composite veneer His eyes beamed at the prospect of having 20% improvement. However, when I handed him the mirror, he was so pleased to look at his front teeth and proceeded to do the rest of his teeth. the rest is history, 🙂 It feels good to see him very happy.

My funny lady rocking @55..What is her secret of looking young?
My best friend Malou just turned 55 and she is still full of energy. What is the secret?According to her, just enjoy life and let the problem take care of itself, oh well that was not exactly her words but if you are with her, positivity is electrifying.
looking great at 55 I guess, it is how you deal with your problem that counts. I don’t know anyone who has no problem in life but we all have different style of looking at it and perhaps a different way of taking it in.But for sure, I know the words that makes her smile often…that makes her feel young and certainly looks younger than her age.

Eid Mubarak: Visiting Jeddah Gold Souk
Eid Mubarak (blessed Eid) celebrating the end of Ramadan, people went to buy gifts for their love ones, usually in the form of gold jewelries or with electronic gadgets, sweets and chocolates, employees receive a month bonus, others are lucky to have even more!

gold and calculator? can’t afford!We decided to visit the Gold Souk (market of gold) in old town Jeddah just to know if we can afford the soaring prices under the soaring hot weather of Jeddah.
Surprisingly the price of gold went down from SR 220 per gram to Sr 150-160 per gram. Available in 18-21-24 K different designs.Unfortunately, at this time I can’t afford to buy any jewellery for myself, so I just took a lot of pictures for you to see.
Even silver and precious stones are not affordable on my budget. 😦
Oh! by the way, fake jewelries are also available in small stores, an exact copies of the original jewelries .
Oh well, I had fun looking and appreciating the craftsmanship so ladies I leave you with this quote:

Age 53: How to look modestly young (10 beauty tips)
My patient yesterday asked: how i maintained my “young looks” having reached my golden years three years ago. Honestly, I don’t have any secret at all when it comes to beauty tips, I guess I am lucky to have good genes. 🙂
However,let me share some of the things I used when I hit fifty and I wished I did it ten years ago (would have been better) and some of the activities I do and beliefs I can share which I think help me through my fifties and beyond.
1) sunblock
I prefer to use tinted sunblock because I don’t have to use foundation.
2) mask
to avoid Botox/filler injection, I used “meso-mask”, once a week for three months and once every two weeks for another three months, together with ‘Meso C” for another month. This is my brand and I don’t endorsed it to everyone, Each individual has preference and different kind of sensitivities, please consult your doctor before using it.
3) Eye cream and concealer
I have used eye glass since college years, so I took care of my eye bag even before I hit fifty. I have assisted in Blepharoplasty and I think I wont submit myself to that kind of surgery.
4) Diet – plenty of fruits and vegetable surely helps and regular exercise too.
I go to gym three times a week and walk once a week. When I am hungry, I usually choose fruits or carrots as substitute for chocolates and chips. I do have a “cheat day” once a week so i don’t deprive myself eating ice cream, chocolates and red meat.
5) Changing hair colour.
Experiment which colour of the hair that suits you best.
6) Eyeglass
I can’t use contact lens, so I have to use an eyeglass that suits the shape of my face, I think a shade of red when your face is a bit fair will do some trick, instead of using the traditional black.
7) SMILE – the cheapest !

8) Camera 360
It’s a good app to motivate myself, If I look good, I feel good and it change my mood for the day.
9) stress buster
I like photography but there’s some restrictions in the Kingdom so I used my coffee to paint. Look for something to do that you are passionate about. You can even experiment different style of make up or dress up even though you are just at home. My day always starts… looking at the mirror and give myself smile, believing today is one of the best day!

I keep trusted friends with utmost positive outlook in life, even in moment of hardships, we manage to look at the mishap in a funny way.
